As long last, the Ministry of Justice has released the second autopsy report surrounding the death of the 13 year old Angel Togba with a sign of foul play committed.
According to Liberia’s Attorney-general Philip Banks, the second autopsy report which was conducted by a trained Cuban Pathologist indicated that the late Angel Togba was sexually abused and later strangulated to death. Minister Banks further dismissed earlier report that Angel Togba took away her own life as reported by Liberia’s Solicitor-general Tiawon Gonglo after he read the first autopsy report amidst public outcries.
The Liberian Justice Minister also reported on the discovery of missing parts of the late Angel Togba and wonder how and why these parts were abstracted from the body of Angel Togba by the Funeral home in which she was deposited. The Funeral home earlier denied abstracting the missing parts of the late Angel Togba.
After mounted pressure by the public and Rights groups over the inaccurate submission of the first autopsy report read by Liberia’s Solicitor-general Tiawon Gonglo, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and her government imported a 30 year old trained Cuban pathologist to conduct an independent autopsy void local participation.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Justice, Cllr. Philip Banks has ordered the arrest of the guardians of the late Angel Togba, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Williams whose home the alleged hanging took place. According to Mr. Banks, the two persons along with other persons directly or indirectly involved with the death of Angel Togba will shortly face prosecution.
The body of little Angel Togba was discovered at the bathroom of her guardians, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Williams on November 30, 2007 hanged with her underpants torn as sign of been sexually harassed. The death of Angel Togba has brought street protest and wild-spread condemnation by students and the Association of Female Lawyers of Liberia.
The mother of the late Angel Togba, Sue Togba has called for the dismissal of Solicitor-general Tiawon Gonglo. She said the family of the late Angel Togba has absolutely no confidence in Cllr. Gonglo on grounds that he connived with other wicked Liberians to divert the actuality surrounding the death of her daughter. “We do not have confidence in Cllr. Gonglo anymore”, she maintained.
Cllr. Tiawon Gonglo is the award winning Human Rights activist but since his appointment to the post of Solicitor-general, his reputation and credibility have reduced as the result of an alleged concocted autopsy report.
