Liberia: Senator Cletus Wotorson elected new President Pro-tempore of the Liberian senate

Members of the House of Senate have elected new President Pro-tempore of the Liberian Senate. Cletus Wotorson, aged, 72 and Senior Senator of Grand Kru County came victorious ahead of Grand Bassa County Senator, Gbehzongar Findley.
Senator Cletus Wotorson took eighteen votes and senator Gbehzongar Findley took eleven votes of the total twenty nine votes of the Upper House. Although the upper House comprise of thirty Senators, one Senator, unknown neutralized his vote.
The newly elected President Pro-tempore is a trained geophysics with vast experience in politics. He earlier contested the Pro-tempore position at the inception of the 52nd Legislature but was flogged by former Pro-temp Isaac Nyenabo.
In his acceptance speech after his induction per Legislature proceedings, Senator Wotorson promised to reunite the divided senate through a retreat. Defeated Pro-temp contestant Gbehzongar Findley has however congratulated Senator Wotorson and promised to work with him in enhancing the work of the Liberian senate.
