Hundreds of Liberians and foreign residents today at about 1600 hours are preparing to glue to their various radio and television sets to listen to the annual message of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to the 5th Session of the 52nd Legislature in the Joint Assembly Hall of the Capitol Building in Monrovia.
According to a release from the presidential press secretary, Cyrus Wleh Badio, the President’s message will highlight progress, prospects and challenges in the overall development agenda of the Government, which have been captured in the ‘Lift Liberia’ Poverty Reduction Strategy - a three-year medium-term strategy, which spells out the Government’s overall vision for sustainable growth and development.

The Joint Committee of both Houses will meet the President at the Entrance of the Capitol at 3:55 p.m., and escort her to the Joint Assembly Chambers, along with the Sergeants-at-Arms of houses. Upon arrival at the door, the Sergeants-at-Arms of the House of Representatives will announce the arrival of the President.
At 4:00 p.m., the President will deliver her Annual Message. During that period of delivery, NO ONE may enter or leave the Chambers, in keeping with the protocol.
